Registering to Vote in Kingston, NH

  • If you are domiciled in Kingston, will be 18 years of age or older on the day of the next election, and are a United States citizen, you are eligible to register to vote in Kingston, New Hampshire.

  • There is no minimum period of time you are required to have lived in the state before being allowed to register.  You may register as soon as you move into your new community.

  • Simply visit your local town clerk’s office at the back of the Town Hall. You will need to complete a standard Voter Registration Form and show proof of having established a domicile in Kingston.

  • Please reach out to SOS for printable versions of all acceptable forms of proof of having established domicile. If you do not have documents to prove a qualification, you may prove identity, age, citizenship, or domicile by completing an affidavit that is available from the clerk.

Voting Absentee

  • If you meet the state's requirements and qualifications and are unable to register in person because of physical disability, religious beliefs, military service, or because of temporary absence, you may register by mail.

  • You should request an absentee voter registration affidavit and a standard voter registration form from your town clerk or from the Secretary of State's Office.  Supervisors of the Checklist must review and approve your application. They are required to meet on a date 6 to 13 days before the primary and again before the general election. Unless the supervisors hold voluntary sessions before then, the supervisors will review your application at that meeting. You are registered to vote when the supervisors approve the application. The absentee voter registration affidavit must be witnessed and then both the affidavit and the voter registration form are to be returned to your town or city clerk.

  • If you request an absentee ballot and are not registered, the clerk will send you both your absentee ballot and your absentee voter registration forms and instructions.
